Pulp City: Dead Eye + Harrier

More Pulp City minis! I never liked the images  saw of the Dead Eye miniature, but really liked the vigilantes that came in his box, so I bought it with the intention of proxying Dead Eye himself. I just didn't really dig on the football theme, though it is a unique idea for a hero. Anyway after looking at the mini in person  I really liked it. The detail and proportions where great. Though I still didn't dig on the Football theme, so I decided to convert him.

I filed down the spikes on his shoulderpads and then replaced the football hand with a Hasslefree "Harby" stone hand I had in my bits box. A simple hand swap on the pointing hand and he now looks like he is going to land a haymaker on some evil-doer! The coke can on the base is a bit of sprue and the chip packet is simply printed out.

The official Harrier model is, IMO, the worst model that Pulp Monsters produce. I just couldn't bring myself to use it, so I repainted a Heroclix Catman mini to use instead. The sculpt is actually pretty decent and scales well with the other Pulp Minis.

I also took some better pics of Androida and Iron Train. Iron Train has had a copy of the "Pulp City Herald" added to his base also.

Pulp City: Iron Train + Androida

I'm digging Pulp City, a superhero skirmish game by Pulp Monsters. It's been kicking around for a few years now and has some pretty decent and some not so decent figures. Initially I wasn't grabbed by their house style and the inability to create your own heroes, but was swayed after playing a demo game with Viv (http://www.youtube.com/rubbishinrubbishout) a bit over a year ago.

The game is really fun and most of the sculpts are great. I'd highly recommend it if you're into superhero gaming. I've taken to proxying the minis i'm not too keen on but somehow have ended up amassing a collection of nearly all of the Heroes available.

Most of them reside on the unpainted lead mountain unfortunately (Irony of working in a gaming store 002: Hardly ever find time to paint anything that isn't a commission), but I'll be trying to work my way through them as the long awaited rulebook should finally be in my hands next weekish.

Anyway here is a couple of Minis I painted about a year or so ago. Not my best efforts but they look passable. Iron Train has had a head swap from a spare Hasslefree head I had lying around. Excuse the crappy pics!
